The girls had their spring photos taken at school this week. Most of the other parents that I’ve spoken with about the new practice of taking photos in both the fall and in the spring agree that it’s overkill. But all of the other parents that I’ve spoken with about it have also said that their kids are getting spring photos as well as fall photos. Each parent that I discussed this with seemed to be apologizing as they admitted that they got sucked in. I think that the cheapest picture package was about $20 for each kid. So, it wasn’t a lot of money. And it is nice to have some professional looking photos of the girls. But getting ready for picture day is a bit of a nightmare.
Dee Dee had her outfit sorted out after trying on a couple dresses. But it wasn’t as easy for Audio. She started with a dress that she liked, but I was concerned about how it would work for her in the bathroom. I imagined it dropping into the toilet and Audio’s teachers dressing her in sweatpants and a Toy Story t-shirt. So, we showed Audio every other piece of clothing that would be easier for her to manage. Unfortunately, she was strongly opposed to the idea of wearing anything but the dress that she’d picked out.
After a night with an Angry Audio, we decided to have her put on the dress in the morning and show us how well she could use the toilet while wearing the dress. The test went well, and Audio wore the dress to school. Both girls looked nice when they went into the school. And I was happy to see that they both looked nice when they came out of school at the end of the day. Dee Dee said that she was able to get to a mirror and make sure she looked good for her photo. Audio didn’t want to talk about her photo experience. She wanted to talk about a boy in her class who can whistle, but not professionally.
