20221013 Stuffed Up

Dee Dee has had a stuffy nose, and has been sneezing, and coughing since the first week of school. It looks like a cold but is likely the same allergies that I’ve been dealing with all fall.  She has been able to keep it together and hasn’t felt sick enough to want to stay home from school.  Audio has had days here and there when she was stuffed up, but this week it got worse.  And, along with feeling less healthy, she’s been feeling less happy.

On Monday and Tuesday morning, Audio was upset that her mom was gone when she woke up.  Until this week, she never had a problem with her mom going to work in the morning.  In order to help her feel better and to keep our morning moving along, I had her make videos and send them to her mom and her mom sent short videos back each day.  That helped and both girls were able to get breakfasted, bathroomed, and dressed in time to get to school before the bell rang.

On Wednesday morning, Audio woke up and came down stairs while her mom was getting ready for work.  When she left for work, my wife laid Audio in bed with me and told her that she would call when she got to work.  Audio was half asleep.  When she woke up, she realized that her mother was gone and got upset that she didn’t get to say goodbye.  She slid off of one side of the bed and came around to the other side, next to where I was lying and stood sniffling and crying. I picked her up and laid her on my chest and reminded her that her mom was going to call soon.  She laid her head on my chest and cried softly.  Then I heard gurgling. I sat up and pulled Audio upright.  I held her so her head was level with mine. There was more gurgling, and then she vomited directly onto my face.

After she finished throwing up, she felt fine. I cleaned the puke out of my beard, got all of us ready and brought the girls to school.
